If you are experiencing homelessness in a city where we have a volunteer team, we may be able to help. Check out our list of teams on the map below. 

If we have a team in your area, you can check our calendar for upcoming clinics. Make sure to check a few months ahead as well, as many of our teams host clinics every three months.

Our volunteer teams provide free preventative veterinary care for pets of people experiencing homelessness. This includes physical examinations, core vaccinations for dogs and cats, microchips, parasite prevention, and vouchers/information for free spay/neuter services when available. In some cases, teams are able to treat minor health concerns such as skin or ear infections as well as guide pet parents on resources for humane end of life care. These services are only available to individuals who have had their pets seen by a local Street Dog Coalition team. We are unable to provide urgent/emergency care for sick or injured animals.

Clinic frequency varies based on volunteer resources. Most teams host clinics every 1-3 months. 

No. Most of our teams host pop-up clinics at various locations in collaboration with community partners. Examples include parking lots, day shelters/transitional housing facilities, and other community spaces. Care is only available during our scheduled pop up clinics. 

Due to limited resources, most teams limit the number to two pets per person/family with some exceptions. Please message your local team directly using the contact form at the bottom of their team page if you have a question about possible exceptions.

For free spay/neuter vouchers/information, your pet must first be examined by one of our volunteer veterinarians. Upcoming clinic information can be found here.

Due to limited volunteer resources, we are not typically able to provide veterinary services outside of regularly scheduled clinics/events. Visit our Additional Resources page for help finding veterinary care in your area.

The street clinic setting can be scary for some animals. If you have a fearful or reactive dog or cat, we recommend that you contact the local team in advance of the scheduled clinic. Our goal is to prioritize the safety of you, your pet, and our volunteers.

In general, our resources are limited to veterinary care provided at the street clinic setting. SDC engages in fundraising to cover the cost of spay/neuter and end of life care for pets who have been seen at local SDC clinics. Occasionally, grant funds may be available to offset the cost of additional veterinary care for patients who qualify. Inquiries should be directed to the SDC team that examined your pet. While we cannot guarantee that this will be available, our volunteer teams do their best to encourage donations of pet supplies and food to bring to their street clinics. We recommend checking with the local humane society or visiting pethelpfinder.com for information about pet food pantry/pet supply locations near you.
