SDC is extending their reach up the leash to provide One Health services to at-risk people and pets in rural Colorado at Arkansas Valley Fair Grounds (800 N 9th St, Rocky Ford, CO 81067) via a free community health fair. Basic veterinary care (including vaccinations, parasite control, microchipping, treatment of minor medical problems, etc) will be offered by a team of veterinarians, vet techs, and veterinary students. Medical and dental screenings will be available for humans as well as free haircuts and lunch. This health fair is available to any human, pet owner or not, who considers themself “at risk” which includes people with very low incomes experiencing a severe housing cost burden (i.e., those paying more than 50 percent of their income toward housing).
