My love for shelter medicine has taught me the importance of keeping animals with their owners to prevent overcrowding in shelters. Outreach like SDC help to maintain the human-animal bond with preventative medicine and routine care. Being able to help owners who truly love their pets reminds me why I became a veterinarian in the first place.
