Team Leads:

AudreyAnne Estess, DVM

Dr. AudreyAnne Estess-Dunnam, is originally from the Jackson metro area. She obtained her bachelors degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Mississippi State University. Dr. Estess grew up in a medical family, with a physician and nurse for parents. While she has always had tremendous respect for human medical professionals, she’s known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was eleven years old.

Veterinary school truly opened Dr. Estess’ eyes to one health and its collaborative potential. People and their pets are bonded now more than ever and Dr. Estess sees this every day in general practice. While a veterinarian’s patient may be a dog or cat, forming a relationship with their human is just as important. Dr. Estess is so excited to bring The Street Dog Coalition to Jackson.

Gunnar Dunnam, DVM

He graduated with honors from Mississippi State University and completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2021. Dr. Dunnam also holds a Master's degree in population medicine with a poultry specialty. Currently, he serves as the Corporate Veterinarian for Cal-Maine Foods, Inc., overseeing bird health and welfare programs. Although his specialty lies in poultry medicine, Dr. Dunnam has experience in private practice, having worked in small animal relief medicine. Inspired by his wife, Dr. AudreyAnne Estess-Dunnam, he was introduced to The Street Dog Coalition and their mission to provide veterinary care to the homeless population in the Jackson, MS metro area. Dr. Dunnam recognizes the importance of strengthening the Human-Animal Bond through their work.
